“Fit India 2021” Walkathon

“Fit India 2021” Walkathon was organized jointly by the Department of Swasthavritta, NSS Unit and Youth Red Cross Unit of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Kuthpady, Udupi, on 21.09.2021.
Dr Muralidhar R Ballal, General Manager, SDM Ayurveda Pharmacy, inaugurated the programme and spoke on the importance of walking in health promotion. Walking has lost importance in today’s lifestyle leading to increase in number of lifestyle disorders and these can be prevented by including walking as a part of our routine, he added. 
Chief guest, Mr Vinod Kamath, CEO, Abharan Jewellers, Udupi conveyed his best wishes and said that, such programs shall create awareness about role of walking in maintenance of health, in the society. Dr, Mamatha K V, Principal, addressed the students regarding importance of physical fitness in promotion of health, in her presidential address.
Chief guest, Mr Akarsh Kamath, 4th generation CEO, Abharan Jewellers, Udupi, flagged off and declared the walkathon open. Walkathon commenced from the campus of the college, through Melpete road, continued till Post Office, Udyavara and was completed back in the college premises.
Dr Veera Kumara K, Dean, Student Affairs, Dr Vijay B Negalur, Head, Department of Swasthavritta, Dr Vidyalakshmi K, NSS Officer, Dr Mohammed Faisal, Program Officer, Youth Red Cross, other faculty members and students of 4th BAMS participated in the walkathon.
