WGSHA partners with ITC Infotech to enhance understanding of Front Desk Operations

Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), a pioneering institution in hospitality education, has initiated a consultancy project aimed at enhancing the understanding of front desk activities within the hospitality domain. This project, conducted in collaboration with ITC Infotech, focuses on training the IT Professionals of hospitality domain of ITC Infotech to better support front desk operations. 

Principal Dr Chef K Thirugnanasambantham, known for his innovative initiatives in fostering collaboration between industry and academia, expressed his enthusiasm about this consultancy project. He stated, “WGSHA is committed to bringing industry and academia together to address the evolving needs of the hospitality sector. Our partnership with ITC Infotech underscores our dedication to providing practical training opportunities that empower professionals to excel in their roles.”

The workshops organized as part of this project will enable participants to re-skill and up-skill in their respective domains, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of front desk operations effectively. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants will gain valuable insights into guest check-in/check-out procedures, reservation management, and handling guest inquiries and complaints.

Moreover, this collaboration presents an invaluable opportunity for WGSHA faculty members to connect with industry professionals and gain first-hand knowledge of current trends and best practices in front desk management. By fostering a symbiotic relationship between academia and industry, WGSHA aims to enrich the learning experiences of both faculty and participants, ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant and responsive to industry needs.

The first session of this program was organized at WGSHA from March 26-27, 2024 with senior Team Leaders and others from the Hospitality domain attending the sessions conducted on various aspects of the front office operations and guest experiences.
