Ghandruk Novel Release

Ghandruk, the novel authored by writer – journalist Sathish Chapparike was released here recently under the auspices of Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences (GCPAS), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal. 

‘The kannada novel becomes distinct in kannada literature because of the novel’s pre-occupation with the corporate world and geopolitics’, said writer Rajaram Thandur after releasing the novel.  It is an   exploration into the world of relationships and the final purpose of life, said GCPAS Head Prof. Varadesh Hiregange.  The main female character is stronger than the male protagonist of the novel, said critic Prof. Rajashekhar of SDM College, Ujire.  Ghandruk is the name of a village in the Himalayas which becomes a metaphor in the novel, said Prof. Shreeraj Gudi of MIC. 

Mr. Chapparike explain his journey and the process of his novel writing ‘This has gone beyond my conscious thought’ he said. Mr. Janardhan Maravanthe who taught Mr. Chapparike in his initial years expected more such works from him.
