Student Scientist Interaction at PPC

The Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers' Club organized a Student-Scientist
Interaction Program on the 30th November 2022 at Poornaprajna College. Prof.
Dipankar Banerjee, Director of Aryabhata Research Institute for Observational Sciences and Dr. Shankarsubramaniam K., Senior scientist from U.R.Rao Satellite Center, ISRO were the scientists who interacted with 117 students of Various colleges about Astronomy and Adithya L1 mission. Dr. Shankar Subramaniam is the principal scientist of the Adithya L1 mission while Prof. Dipankar Banerjee is the head of the Adithya L1 Support cell. Students from Poornaprajna College along with students from Anandatirtha PU College, Manipal PU College (high school division), MGM College, Canara College, MIT Manipal, Mangalore University and Kerala Central University took part and asked various questions concerning Astronomy, ISRO, Adithya L1 mission and future missions of ISRO. Principal Dr. Raghavendra. A, Head of Physics Dept. Mrs. Prathibha C. Acharya, coordinator Mr. Atul Bhat and members of the physics dept. Were present. The interaction was sponsored by the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy, Bengaluru and the program was followed by a Sky-watch to view Jupiter , Saturn and Lunar Craters.
