The Department of Kaumarabhritya in collaboration with Himalaya wellness company organized the Children’s day celebration in Patanjali Yoga hall, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College and Hospital, Udupi on 14/11/2022 from 2pm to 5pm.
The President of the function Dr Mamatha K V ( Principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi ), Resource person for the ceremony was Dr Ashok Kamath ( BEO, Kundapura, Udupi), The special invitee Dr Nagaraj S ( Medical Superintendent, SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udupi ), Sri Naveen Varma (Zonal Manager, Himalaya Wellness Company, Zenith division ), Dr Prathviraj Puranik ( Chief Organizing Secretary, Professor and Head, Department of Kaumara bhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi), also addressed the audience.
The programme commenced with Prayer by Dr Sheethal and Dr Shreevan ( Internees, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) and lighting the lamp by the guests. Dr Prathviraj Puranik welcomed all guests and the audience.
Different competitions were held including Healthy baby Competition (0-3years), Fancy dress Competition ( 3years – 6years ), Drawing competition ( 6-12years ). Dr Sharashchandra ( Associate Professor, Dept. Of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) and Dr Kavya (Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) were the judges for Healthy baby Competition and Dr Arpana ( Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Prasuthi evum Streeroga, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) and Dr Yogesh Acharya ( Associate Professor, Dept. Of Swasthavrita, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) served as Judge for Drawing competition ( Topic – Our Environment ). Dr Shilesh ( Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Kayachikitsa, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) and Dr Chaitra ( Professor and Head of the department of Agadathantra, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) were the judges for Fancy dress competition.
Public awareness on the topic ‘Tips on Healthy Parenting’ was addressed by Dr Ashok Kamath, BEO, Kundapura zone. He stressed on the importance of basic education for children in their Mother tongue.
Dr Mamatha K V gave an informative speech on Scientific reason behind the development of skills in children. Dr Nagaraj also delivered stirring speech on Samskaras performed at home. Sri Naveen Varma gave a brief introduction about the Questa kid powder, Product Himalaya wellness Company.
Other faculties of the institution Dr Nagarathna ( Associate Professor, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) Dr Chithra lekha ( Assistant Professor, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) also graced the occasion with the presence.
Vote of thanks was given by Dr Pratibha I Mayakar ( I MD Scholar, Dept. Of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital Master of Ceremony was done by Dr Pooja ( II MD Scholar, Dept of Kaumarabhritya ). All PG Scholars of Dept of Kaumarabhritya and interneesll also actively participated in the programme.
