MAHE~ final day~ Convocation Day

“The students’ community needs to look at diversity and inclusiveness,” Says Axis Bank’s Shri Amitabh Chaudhry in Manipal Academy of Higher Education’s (MAHE), on the final day 30 th Convocation Day

MANIPAL: Manipal Academy of Higher Education’s (MAHE) 30th Convocation Day concluded on 20 November. It brought the curtains down on an emotional,
celebratory three days that witnessed eminent leaders and guests joining the MAHE fraternity to wish the latest batch of graduates success as they leave to develop meaningful careers.

The chief guest for the final day was the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Axis Bank, Mumbai, Shri Amitabh Chaudhry.
Speaking to the graduating student Shri Amitabh Chaudhry has described MAHE as a Unique Institution with world-class infrastructure facilities along with academics which provides holistic development of the students. Over 70 years of MAHE’s contribution by its founder Late Dr TMA Pai in the field of quality Education, has been recognised globally.

Sharing his professional career journey Shri Amitabh Chaudhry said “The World around us is changing rapidly and due to technology disruption, the students’ needs to look at diversity and inclusiveness for effective career growth. He elaborated further, on the life lessons and share his insights with the graduating students. Staying curious and receptive can lead to understanding in connecting the dots.

These can enhance the ability for career progression & personal life, and
Teamwork is the critical success factor for win-win. Further he added “when our growth is inclusive, it has a multiplier effect. More than ever before, rural and small- town India have become integral to our Nation’s growth story. We can’t move ahead without taking this Bharat along. Frankly, Manipal is a great example of what they have done in this part of the World”.

The convocation address was followed by the conferring of degrees and the awards ceremony. Warange Shiwangi Vijay Namrata (Manipal School of Life Sciences), Desai Keyuri Milind (Manipal Institute of Communication), Vaishnavi Ballal (Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore), Muskaan Chichra (Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal), and Stuti Parikh (Manipal College of Health Professions) were the gold medal winners on the evening.

Among the university delegates were Pro-Chancellor Dr H.S. Ballal, Dr Ranjan R Pai, President, MAHE Trust, Chairman-Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG), Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor, Dr Venkatraya Prabhu, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr Dilip G Naik, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr Pragna Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar and Dr Vinod V Thomas,
Registrar, Evaluation.

Dr HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of MAHE, said, “These are exciting yet uncertain times, but our students have, time after time, surprised us with their fearlessness and ability to adapt to change. They leave us thoroughly prepared to go above and beyond the demands of today’s busy, technology-centred
markets, applying their academic and practical knowledge to solve real-world problems with integrity and empathy.”

Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice chancellor, MAHE, said, “As we bid farewell to our brilliant students, we do so in the knowledge that they will be leaving us for a world that appreciates their technical skills, ideas, inclusive worldviews, and youth. With the world innovating at a lightning pace, it will fall on the younger generations to solve the planet’s problems and usher us into stability and
growth. A lot rests on our graduates’ shoulders. We wish them the very best in their journeys.”
