 Aditi Gallery Udupi has organized an exhibition of “Masks from Around the World” from 17th June for three days.

Mask or a second face is an object worn on the face, typically for protection, disguise, performance, or entertainment. Masks have been used since antiquity for both ceremonial and practical purposes, as well as in the performing arts and for entertainment.

Managing Trustee of Aditi Gallery, Dr. Kiran Acharya informed that the intention of organizing this exhibition is to spread awareness about this enigmatic world of masks.

The exhibit is specially designed with a description of each mask. About 150 masks made of a variety of materials- from South America, Italy, Srilanka, Nepal, Bhutan & Africa are on display.


On June 16th at 5:15 PM, Shri Kurma Rao M I.A.S, (Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate, Udupi) would inaugurate the exhibition. Dr H T M Vasappa (DGM & RO, Union Bank, Udupi) and Shri Arvind Vyasaraya Ballal (Art connoisseur, Mumbai) would be the guests of honour.
