Observing life and watching diverse films can help making a good film -Mr Dinesh Shenoy

Observing life and watching diverse films can help making a good film, said Mr Dinesh Shenoy, writer-director who has made his debut film ‘Madhyantara’ which was screened here at MAHE.

Talking to the students here at Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences, MAHE (after the screening), Mr Shenoy who hails from this region and now lives in Delhi, said the details in ‘ Madhyantara’ are also the details he observed over a period of time in his more than two-decades of association with cinema. He recalled his ‘passion’ for cinema from his childhood days which helped him make this film.
Mr Shenoy has earlier worked with such directors and producers as Wes Anderson, Adrien Brody, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Aamir Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, and many others. “I have learnt lot from them,” he added. He also explained various technicalities such as lighting, set, design, selection of cast, location etc of the film. The ‘Madhyantara’ which is a short film about the process of film making itself, was much appreciated by the students and others alike.

GCPAS head Prof Varadesh Hiregange and journalist G Vishnu moderated the session. The GCPAS Film Club coordinators Sampada Bhagavath, Shravan Basri, Alice Chauhan organized the programmes.
