Bell O Seal Valves, Udupi, Successfully Produces the Motor Operated & Remote Controlled Bellow Sealed 26 Inch Gate Valves and becomes world’s first company to produce such valves’ It’s been a pride moment for Bell O Seal Valves Pvt Ltd, Udupi, having decades of experience in metallurgical techniques and valve designing, to become the first Valve Manufacturing Company in the world to successfully design, develop and manufacture the Motor Operated and remote controlled Bellow Sealed 26 Inch Gate Valve in its facilities at Subramanyanagar, Udupi.
These Gigantic size Valves have been taken up as a challenge by Bell O Seal Valves, realising the dreams of our beloved Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi of the concept of “Make in India”.
The valves weighs around 2 tons each with the height of about 5 Meters. These valves are used in handling hazardous fluid BENZENE & BUTADIENE (CARCINOGENS). Because of the hazardous nature of the Benzene & Butadiene fluids, the valves were required to qualify for Fugitive Emissions Compliance.
Bell O Seal Engineers accepted these challenges even though it had faced multiple challenges on designing and development in the production of these valves. However, with the constant motivation, encouragement, support and never to give up drive by the managing director of Bell O Seal, Mr Rajesh Kumar Salins, has made it possible to meet all the stringent test requirements.
Project Management Consultant, viz., Engineers India Limited (EIL), one of the Navaratna Companies, declared by the Government of India, was involved in the approval of designs and witnessed the various tests that were required to be undertaken before the dispatch of the valves to one of its prestigious clients.
These “Zero Emission” valves manufactured by Bell O Seal Valves, not only ensures the safety of people in the plant but also is committed in saving the nature by cutting down emissions and protecting environment.
The valves are supplied to HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), which is a Public Private Partnership joint venture between the Fortune 500 Company, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Government of India Enterprise and Mittal Energy Investments Pte Ltd, Singapore and thus putting India on the map of being the 1st company in the world to develop the remote controlled, motor operated valves.
The Valves will be installed in HMEL’s Guru Gobind Singh Polymer Addition Project, Punjab during later part of 2021. B K Narayan, Director HR, of the company informs that the nuclear valves have been supplied by the company to the Nuclear Corporation of India Limited which was earlier being imported from the European countries to meet the required safety standards in the valves and has saved huge foreign exchange out flow for the country.
